More like 8 days instead of 5...

We went to the doctor this morning for what was supposed to be our final appointment. As you know, our due date is this coming Sunday, the 27th. The doctor had already told us that we could induce at any point after 39 weeks so we decided that if she hadn't arrived by her original due date, we would shoot for April 29th. At today's appointment, I was 50% effaced and 1.5-2 cm dilated. The doctor gave us the go to schedule an induction. The nurse called the hospital with our request of the 29th only to find out that they're already booked for the day! Our only other options that they had available were either the 24th (as in 48 hours from now) or the 30th. As much as neither of us want to wait another day to meet this little girl, we felt that 2 days from now seemed really soon. So we opted for the 30th. We go into the hospital at midnight between the 29th and 30th and will actually have her on the 30th. Quite honestly, we're hoping that she comes on her own sometime in between. That would be the most desired outcome. Either way, at least we know that she'll be here no later than next Wednesday. We'll keep you posted if anything should change between now and then.

I am so excited I wish I could hop in my car and be there right away, but you let her know her favorite grand, great aunt will be there shortly to rock her and sing to her.

Lindsay,
We are so excited for you both. Can't wait to see her. I wanted to share two things that helped me after the birth of my girls. I took a notebook and thank you notes to the hospital so I could keep a log of all the gifts brought and then I could write my thank you's asap. I also wrote thank yous to the nurses that were so wonderful. It's such a great time, enjoy your last few days of rest! The nursery is beautiful.
Love,
