All Avery

In my last post I briefly touched on some of Avery's milestones. I need to do that again in more detail. For me. Sometimes I think that time goes so fast that I won't remember everything, or that I think it's so profound- how could I forget?, but yes, I do. So here it goes, from what I can remember.

At 2 years of age, Avery...

-is 34 inches tall (55%) and 26.5 pounds (50%).
-can walk, run, jump, and climb.
-can brush her teeth, not well, but understands the brush/spit concept.
-talks all the time! She usually speaks in full sentences for most of her thoughts though not at 100%. Her words for the most part are clear and used correctly.
-likes to hold up one finger and say "be wite back!" (translates into "be right back")
-sings her ABC's.
-counts from 1-10.
-loves to be outside.
-likes to talk on the phone for real or pretend.
-is just about potty trained.
-sleeps 12 hours nights and takes 3 hours naps.
-still uses a pacifier (bay-boo) when she sleeps.
-insists on wearing socks to bed even when it's 92 degrees outside.
-likes the color blue.
-would eat applesauce, ketchup, and cheese at every meal if allowed.
-is extremely observant. She could probably find anything in our house if asked or show you how to perform a task though she may not be big enough to do it herself.
-loves to be a helper.
-has become pretty attached to her baby doll.
-likes to watch Dora the Explorer and Wonder Pets.
-enjoys sports like playing basketball, golf, catch, etc.
-can sing Rock-A-Bye Baby, You Are My Sunshine, Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus, Amazing Grace, and Jesus Loves Me, like no other.
-is sweet, caring, and kind.
-is stubborn and independent but also has the soft side of wanting to be held.
-absolutely loves to go to the park. The swings and slide are her favorites.
-is very particular about order and the way things should be. (For example, she and I were in my car while parked in a parking lot and she noticed that my steering wheel was upside down and insisted I turn it right side up before we got out.)
-likes bubbles in her bath.
-likes to "show Daddy" when she puts on a new outfit, shoes, or hair bow.
-has a fear of thunder because she can't see it.
-loves our dogs, Bailey and Gunner, until they knock her over.
-will make a great big sister.

-IS A BLESSING.
