He can see!

If you know Aaron very well, you know that he has horrible eyesight. Horrible to the point that he can not function without his glasses or contacts. He hates to wear his glasses because his lenses are so thick so he deals with contacts daily, at least he did until 2 days ago. Aaron underwent Lasik surgery on Wednesday to correct his vision. They told him that it would literally change his life, and it has. Most people have a -1 or a -2 rating for their eyes- they can still function and perform simple tasks without using their prescribed contacts of glasses. Aaron however was a -12. The nurse told him that in comparison to others, he can not function without contacts or glasses. I'm trying to put this in perspective. Aaron wears an Indiglo watch to bed every night so that if he needs to, he can push the button and hold the watch about an inch from his eyes to see what time it is in the middle of the night. So, now you'll see (no pun intended :) ) why it was absolutely amazing to go back yesterday for his post-op appointment and be told that he has 20/20 vision in one eye and 20/30 in the other. The one that is 20/30 is expected to continue to improve over the next few days until it is perfect as well. Aaron is thrilled with this improvement. It's very exciting and incredible what technology can do!

Aaron - congratulations! You will be SO glad you had this surgery. I had mine about two years ago, and I don't miss the glasses, designer frames, or switching out with prescription sunglasses. I know you'll be ready to ditch the crazy eye protectors!
