8 weeks

Already.  Yep, 8 weeks old today.  10 months until her first birthday.  Ok, a little dramatic, but still.  Time refuses to slow down.  If anything, it seems to go even faster with the second child.  Emmersen is growing well.  A little too well probably.  In her defense, it's not her fault.  We've started adding cereal to her formula because of her acid reflux and spit up.  I attempted to nurse her as long as possible, but my body simply couldn't keep up.  Rice cereal on a newborn causes gas.  Another vicious cycle we are dealing with.  Nonetheless, we are plugging through and figuring out her changing needs day by day.  One major addition we've made is the Nap Nanny.  No, we didn't hire someone to get up for us in the middle of the night and handle those feedings (though how nice would that be?).  We simply made a purchase at Babies R Us, a little costly in my book (but who can put a price tag on sleep?!), and now have a Nap Nanny that Emmersen sleeps in.  (see below)  This allows her to sleep on an incline without having to roll towels and put them under her mattress.  She moves way too much for that to work.  We're still trying to get the hang of it but I think we may be on to something.  She may not sleep all through the night but she does sleep more soundly.

At her 8 week check up today, Emme was:
22" long (25%)
12 lb. 6 oz. (90%)

This is what Emmersen sleeps in each night.  Her's is pink.
