And for a Day, Everything Felt Normal

With Aaron back in town for a couple days, we took our good friends, Matt and Ellyn, up on their offer to join them at their family's lake house for an afternoon. And just like that, it felt like old times. Aaron and Avery headed out to play in the lake and Emmersen and I took shelter under the shade of a tree. While hesitant at first, Avery warmed to the idea of sliding down the inflatable slide by herself, along with the assistance of Keisha's paddle. When we got too warm, Emme and I headed for the water as well though I didn't think she'd be going in as far as she did so I didn't bother to put her in a suit.  Once she got her feet wet, she didn't want to get out so we set her in a float to splash. Thoroughly exhausted from the sun and play, we enjoyed a relaxing and delicious meal before heading home. We are so grateful for these friends who treat us like family. Many, many good memories made.
