Dancing Queen

A childhood friend of mine got married today in St. Louis and my family and I were invited to the wedding and reception.  Aaron couldn't make it because of work obligations but the girls and I went ahead.  Avery attended a wedding once when she was about 6 weeks old, so essentially this was the first time either of the girls have been to a wedding or reception.  Avery was so excited to go to the "party" and dance.  She couldn't stop asking if it was time to dance.  With the help of my family, we made it through the wedding without much incident (or noise)!  At the reception, Avery barely made it through dinner, the toasts, and wedding party dances.  She wanted on that dance floor badly!

(Picture this: The reception hall was filled to the brim with people, the maid of honor makes her toast, everyone claps, the room goes silent waiting for whatever is next, and Avery starts LOUDLY singing "Happy Birthday to you!..."  Well, it is a party, right??)

When Avery was able to finally get her feet on that dance floor, she never stopped.  (Unless you count the times where Avery would wander around looking for the "princess" (bride).  In fact, I had to carry her kicking and screaming off of it when it was time to go.  She had so much fun and seemed to entertain those that were around her as well.  That girl has moves that I've never seen before!  She was breakdancing, for crying out loud!  Where she got it, I'll never know.

Me and Drew- one of my very best childhood friends. Can't
wait to do this all over again for his wedding in October!
