A Rush of Farewells

Because Aaron is scheduled to move in about 2 weeks, dear friends of ours have graciously offered to host farewell parties.  On top of those, we have dinners scheduled to catch up with others.  These are busy times, but so fun and humbling at the same time.

Tonight, Larry and Maureen rounded up a crew of folks to help us celebrate this new chapter in our lives.  Aaron and Larry work together at ISU and both he and Maureen have been incredible friends to us and our girls.  I can't even count the times that they have watched A&E so that Aaron and I could catch a date.  Lar and Mo, as they are affectionately called, took us in and made us feel so welcome when we first moved to Normal and it makes me sad to think of leaving them and so many others.  When you don't have family close by, it's amazing how friends serve so well in filling those gaps. Tonight was a perfect example of such friendship- we had a blast!

What a cute cake! We are bound for Pirate country!

Trouble right here.
I mean, Aaron's favorite golfing crew.
