Father's Day

This Father's Day was made extra special because Aaron was able to celebrate being a daddy to not one, but 2 sweet girls and my own dad was here visiting for a few days.  Last night, Avery got to stay up a little late and experience one of those fun summer rites of passage- catching lightning bugs!  She and my dad seemed to dance and weave through the backyard catching a few while others escaped from their grasp.  The quickest container I could get my hands on was a glass pickle jar which they used to try and hold their winged friends.  Avery was fascinated by their blinking lights and the way they seemed to just disappear even though we thought we had our fists closed tightly.

This morning we headed to church together and came home for a little brunch that I whipped up in celebration of our fathers- waffles from scratch, scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, and juice.  I love it when family comes to visit!
