Turning One

My littlest love turned one today. I'm not sure how that's possible, but it happened. We always knew that we wanted at least 2 children, God willing, but I have to admit that when we found out we were pregnant with Emmersen, I was worried. How could I possibly have enough love for another child? I already loved Avery so much that I didn't know if I could squeeze out another ounce for a new baby. Wow, was I ever wrong. Twelve months later, and not enough love has always been a non-issue. Emmersen has completed our family and I can't imagine not having her in it. Though as different as night and day, Avery and Emme are like two peas in a pod. I love watching them together, a certain sisterly bond that doesn't compare.

Today we celebrated Emmersen's first birthday by taking her to Children's Discovery Museum. While Avery would have loved to have gone, she had preschool plus it gave Emme time to explore on her own without chasing after big sister. Grammy and Poppy, Aaron's parents, were in town from Dallas to help celebrate and I'm so grateful for their company and extra hands on this special day.
