Recently, when reading Avery a book at bedtime about growing green beans in the backyard, I got the idea to do the same in our yard. Granted, I never dreamed it would actually happen. But the idea of it sounded fun. I love to garden and get my hands dirty, I love the idea of something new and fresh and of the earth, and I have 2 curious little kids who could learn a lot from watching a garden grow. Now if I could just get that raised box thing made during nap time one day, I'd be set. Only that would be just about impossible.
When the girls and I were in St. Louis last month, Aaron earned many super husband points and surprised me with a raised garden box that he built all by himself. I was so thrilled! Today we finally got around to filling that box. Avery loved to help every step of the way and Emmersen did quite a bit of supervising. I'm so excited to see how this turns out- our little labor of love.
