Homecoming parade

Today is ISU's Homecoming and Avery and I started the day by attending her first ever parade. It was pretty chilly to start but quickly warmed. Avery didn't quite understand the concepet when I explained it to her but was a pro once she figured out they were throwing candy to the parade-goers. The parade lasted for about 2 hours which seems like an eternity to a 2 year old and a woman who is 9 months pregnant but we had to stay as all the streets were closed off- we were stuck! We had every intention of attending the football game that afternoon but after getting so much fresh air at the parade, Avery was spent and took a 3 hour nap instead.
