There was much excitement for Halloween this year. Avery is at the point where she understands what it means- dressing up, trick or treating, etc. When we asked her several weeks back what she wanted to dress up as, she replied instantly with "Ming Ming!". I smiled and asked again hoping she'd come up with something else. Nope. Her answer remained constant. She wanted to dress up as Ming-Ming the WonderPet (her favorite character from a Nick Jr. TV show). So my search began for this particular costume. It is available online but it was not cute at all, or at least the picture didn't seem so. I expanded my search and finally decided it would be best to pull all the pieces together on my own- a duck costume, an aviator's hat and goggles, plus the cape. After it was all together, I don't think it looked that bad at all. Avery thought it was the best ever and she had so much fun running from house to house. I wasn't sure if anyone would recognize her costume, but surprisingly many did. Towards the end, Avery declared that she was "bery freezing" so we called it a night and headed home.
