Setting My Sights On Spokane

My husband works there. My husband lives there. I guess it was about time that I see the place I will soon call home. Yes, it's true. I had yet to see Spokane though I agreed to move there. Some called me crazy and others didn't need to for their eyes spoke it for them. Aaron moved to Spokane almost 10 or so weeks ago. He told me of its beauty and text me photos of proof. It was time for me to see it myself.

One highlight of my trip was to house hunt. Why, I don't know because we have yet to sell our Illinois home. If anything, this discouraged me more. We toured many beautiful homes, one right after another, but still left each with the same ending. "It sure would be nice, but we have to sell our other house first." (sigh) If nothing else, I was able to see parts of Spokane and get an idea of the housing areas and what to expect.

More importantly, this trip allowed me to join in part of my husband's new life that he had started without me. Not by choice of course, but because we had no other option. Whitworth University Athletics- Home of the Pirates. The entire reason for our new venture to the Northwest. Pirate Night is one of the biggest fundraising events for the athletics program and a big deciding factor on the timing of my trip. With 2 auctions and a classy dinner, it was a complete success. And did I mention that Aaron was the keynote speaker? Ah yes, he was. And let me tell you, I couldn't have been more proud. It was quite surreal really. All the hard work he has done and professional goals he has achieved, it came down to this night. My husband, THE Athletics Director, gave a speech to a room full of attentive supporters. I do believe I sat with a smile plastered to my face the entire time he spoke. Yes, he was in his element and quite comfortable taking that stage. (Though I probably didn't help much when I decided to snap a picture, with flash I might add, in the middle of his speech.)

I headed home way too soon, leaving behind thoughts of the future, but anxious to get my girls in St. Louis. Hopefully one day soon, we can be a family of 4 again.

This is the house that Aaron lives in, graciously offered up by the University.
