Spring Surprises

This morning we decided to work outside and get some fresh air as the snow from the other day has finally melted. It was still a little chilly but taking a deep breath of that crisp air felt so good way deep down in my lungs. We pulled some weeds and cut back some of the plants and shrubs that we hadn't gotten around to when we moved in. One fun thing that we are beginning to notice, and will continually be surprised by for the rest of the spring and summer, are the flowers that we apparently have planted in our yard. Having lived here just a couple months, the winter months at that, we have no idea what flowers are buried deep below the dirt and snow until they begin to poke through with their shocks of color. First up- beautiful purple and white crocus. Can't wait to see what arrives next!
