Emmersen's original due date was set for November 12th, 2010. My doctor gave us the option to induce labor at any point past my 39 week check up. We chose to do so because we don't have family close by that could be here quickly should I go into labor on my own. We felt this would help in our prep for Avery's care. So we set induction for November 10th. We had to be at the hospital at 2am that morning. My mom and Bill came up the night before so that they could stay at the house with Avery while we headed to the hospital. When Avery woke up, they took her to her sitter's house and then came to the hospital, making it a routine day for her. When we got to the hospital and checked in, they discovered that I was already at 3cm and having some contractions. They hooked me up and the wait began. My doctor came through a little after 7am and broke my water. Emmersen was delivered at 12:43pm without complication. She was so quiet when she was born that I kept asking if she was ok!
I have to say that this delivery was much different than with Avery. While it was still a fairly easy delivery, it was much more tiring. Though I had an epidural, it didn't work as strongly as with Avery so I was able to feel quite a bit more. Overall, I can't complain. Aaron and my mom were both in the room with me and were a great support.
