O happy day- we got a real Christmas tree this year! This is the first year we've done this and I am thrilled! Normally, we travel during the holidays and are not around much to even enjoy our decorations. This year is different though for 2 reasons. One, Avery is now old enough to understand the broad concept of Christmas and traditions. Two, Emmersen will only be about 6 weeks old at Christmas, making travel a little less appealing. I always had a real Christmas tree growing up and have missed this tradition since leaving home. Walking through the tree lot brought back so many memories.
Our tree stop was pretty impromptu so we lacked the necessary warm coats to peruse up and down all the aisles. Fortunately, we didn't need to because we found a perfect tree about ten minutes into our hunt. We loaded up and headed home and now my house has the heavenly scent of fresh cut pine. Oh, how it takes me back...
